Casey has never broken a bone. I have never broken a bone. Eva hasn't either. But now Mae has.
Poor little girl fell off our bed while sleeping Friday night. She was inconsolable for awhile, but Casey eventually gave her a blessing and she was able to sleep. She was grumpy the next day but cheered up as the day went on and had a good night trick-or-treating.
Anyway...we finally decided to have her checked out this afternoon and her collar bone is broken. There isn't much you can do about it (which is why I didn't rush her to the hospital right away - I didn't think they'd be able to do anything.) She has a sling, but of course won't keep it on.
The doctor said she'd be healed up in 3 weeks and wouldn't have permanent damage. Thank goodness.
Mae was so cute at the doctor's office. She even smiled at the "camera" when they did her x-ray.
I've never worried about my kids getting hurt by falling off the bed, but now I'll be a little more careful.

Mae looks so cute with her sling. So stylish, plus she looks happy. (But POOR thing!) Joel has broken both of his colar bones. The last time a few weeks ago at football. It's no fun, and can be pretty painful. Love to Mae and everyone!
That is the sweetest face----bless her dear heart !And her dear collar bone. Joel can be her role model for healing---but not for breaking BOTH :) Football is scary---but so, I guess, is sleeping in your own bed.
Sad:( She does look so stinkin' cute though. I can't believe she broke it just from falling off the bed. I'm sorry that happened. That is such a cute little sling. I hope that she heals quickly and I love that she said cheese!!!
You know, Atticus broke his collarbone in childbirth. I remember hearing it crack as he came out. Not cool. But he was ok.
But it's different with an older child... as they are more ... vocal.
Anyway, I'm sorry it happened and I hope this is the first and last time you're family gets a broken bone of any kind.
I just saw her sweet picture on Casey's facebook page! So sad! I hope the three weeks goes by quickly for all of you!
Why did no one tell me that Mae-mae broke her bone!! That is so sad! Hope she gets well soon!
Oh my goodness! What a trooper! She even felt good enough to say cheese to the xray machine. So stinkin' cute! I hope she gets feelin' better soon.
